A new combative system(Combat Application techniques) is developed from several other arts

Andrew Curtiss is a former Green Beret and national blackbelt karate champion in 2000 He was a soldier in a Long Range Surveillance (LRS) company; when he was tasked with training his platoon in hand to hand combat. Andrew was frustrated with the Long duration competition style combatives derived from Ultimate Fighting and Brazilian Jujitsu the Army was teaching soldiers. That is when he sat down to design a combative system that would be fast, efficient and deadly. By 2002 he was once again tasked to develop a combatives training plan for his then Special Forces Team. He had already been working on the project from his days in (LRS) This gave way to Combat Application Techniques (formerly know to SFODA members as (AGGRESSION Training) The program was developed from the basic idea that each team member carried a fixed blade knife and wore body armor. The techniques were developed to be used in a S.E.R.E. state or "extremely malnourished and fatiqued" The techniques were developed to quickly and efficiently dispatch enemies with a knife unarmed against a knife or unarmed. Combat equipment is considered on both the operator and the enemy. The "Punisher" Tactical survival knife is the product of the development of this system. This is a tried , true and combat tested system.
