Hello!
We are the Metta Centre in Italy. Villa Metta is a residential training venue for all martial artists.
The reason we are creating a blog is to tell everybody about 'Project Red Balloon'. On the 20th of September 2008 a group of severely bullied children are visiting us from England for a weeks martial arts training and for outings both educational and fun. We hope to raise the confidence and self esteem of these children using the medium of martial arts.
We will very soon be asking for help both on the mat and in the form of sponsorships. The Metta Centre is providing free accommodation and meals plus our own team for the week.
In my next post I will detail our objective financially and provide more information on Red Balloon Schools plus a link to their own website. I will also let you know which Masters will be offering their time to come over and teach these children.
I hope this isn't too dull a topic? - We are absolutely passionate about this project and hope that after 3467 posts you will be too!
